The Parent Swap

If your traveling with young children, or even older children, then you will definitely want to use the Parent Swap option at one point or another.

When your child either doesn’t want to ride, or is too short to ride an attraction, ask a cast member at the entrance to the ride for a Parent Swap. One adult can wait with the child, while the rest of the party rides. When they come off, the adult that waited with the child and two other people can ride again without waiting in line.

You don’t have to pay for the Parent Swap and you don’t have to reserve it ahead of time. It’s an excellent perk, especially for families with infants.

I don’t think I’ve met anyone that enjoys every ride at Disney. I don’t. So don’t force a child to go on a ride they’re scared of. Use the Parent Swap!

  1. When I was seven years old, I did not want to ride Pirates of the Caribbean!(But my younger brother did!) I was about to get on, and I was like I don’t want to ride it! My mom took me outside, while my other family members rode it! Now, I can’t go to the Magic Kingdom without riding it! Haha, I am so embarrassed! 🙂

    • I know how you feel! Some of my favourite rides I was terrified of when I was younger, Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder, (as a kid, I hated roller coasters! Now I love them! As long as they don’t go upside down.) I still remember when I rode Rockin Roller Coaster. I was 9 and when I was about to get in I started crying, but I was determined to ride it for some reason. Afterward I was really embarrassed!!!!

      • I don’t think that is stupid at all! You were younger, and I completely understand! My dad told me I wouldn’t feel the upside down part, and that helped me a bit! If it makes you feel any better, I was totally freaking out when I rode Tower of Terror for the second time this year in March.(I first rode it when I was five.) I was biting my finger nails and my stomach was so nervous! My five year cousin wasn’t even nervous! 🙂

      • Being honest, I have realized isn’t that bad at all!! When I was five, I was like this is the worse thing ever! But then the time before I went in March, I told myself that I would ride it! I am even planning on riding for the third time on my next trip to Disney! I am also daring my brothers and sister to ride it for the first time! 🙂

      • Haha how old are they? I think I will try it again soon, maybe our next trip… My 9 yr old sister loves it! Though she went on California Screaming in Disneyland 4 times in one day (3 of those in a row). No way could I do that without being sick!!!

      • Well I’m going to Disneyland Paris in November. (Expect posts on that trip soon!) I’m not sure when we’ll go to Florida in 2016. I’m getting the Disney bug now tho. I’m going around the house singing it’s a small world and the tiki room songs. On Friday I started to narrate Spaceship Earth when I was doing history in school. We were learning about Rome, I couldn’t help myself!! 🙂 Do you ever break into a Disney song or quote randomly?
